“Celebrating a Century of Love from Meher Baba’s Life and Work”

Centenary Year 1919

Monday 7th October 2019 at Meherabad

M.P.C. Meeting Hall 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

2019 is the centenary year of the important landmark events in Baba’s life and work during 1919, and a programme will be organised to celebrate this occasion.

During 1919, Baba was still in contact with Upasni Maharaj and was gradually gathering His early mandali members. By 1919, Sheriar Irani’s family had grown to six children. He had a new home known as Baba House. In Bombay, Baba met Khodabad Irani. Bailey’s problems were solved during this period. During 1919, more people became part of Merwan Seth’s circle. Masaji went on a long fast for God-realization. This year Baba made several trips to Upasni Maharaj, which increased His circle. Gulmai came in Baba’s contact. Baba made a temple in Sakori in this period. Baba’s brother Jal gained faith in Baba’s divinity. Shireenmai was still concerned about Merwan’s mental state. Upasni Maharaj took Baba to Benares for a big celebration in honor of Sai Baba. The same year Upasni Maharaj declared to Sadashiv Patel, “Remember this always: Merwan will make the whole world dance to His tune. If you hold to Him, you will never have anything to fear.” Merwan Seth, Sadashiv, and Upasni Maharaj spent a night in a cave in Nasik. So these are some important events which may draw your attention to make a short presentation along the following lines:

1. Short video, film, or skit of any event of 1919.
2. Short speech of 10 minutes on any of the aspects of this period.
3. Painting and artwork exhibition.
4. Music and poetry based on the events of this period.
5. Any other art form depicting the activities of this period.

Interested Baba lovers may communicate their willingness to participate in this programme by informing the topic of their interest to Gokaran Shrivastava at [email protected] or [email protected], 0241-2548473, positively by 31st August 2019.
