The public darshan was held on Sunday, March 6th, (1960) in Khushru Quarters from morning until 2:00 P.M., and nearly eight thousand five hundred persons availed themselves of his darshan. The Ahmednagar bhajan group sang as Baba handed out prasad to the many people who had come from distant places such as Bombay, Poona, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Hamirpur.
Bal Natu had arrived at Meherazad three days before the function. Nari Contractor, the famous Indian cricket player, and the Maharani of Baroda were also present. The group of devotees from Hamirpur was allowed to see Baba at Meherazad the following morning at 9:00 A.M.
Ala Sathiraju of Kovvur sent a telegram to Baba that he was undergoing an operation because his condition was serious. On March 8th, (1960) Baba cabled this reply: “Nothing can ever be serious except lack of love for me, and that you have in abundance.”
